News - Game

Tales of Pirates is a free to play, MMOPRG .

Never heard of the game and yet, its familiar by the look of screenshot? Here's the hint - Pirate King Online. This game is the new version, or maybe remake of the it. Note that I never play Pirate King Online before. Developed by a Chinese company, MOLI. And published by IGG (Internet Gaming Gate), who have also published two other games, Voyage Century Online and Myth War Online.

If you ask me, I say they were heavily influenced by Ragnarok Online of Gravity Corp. , like character design, battle, stats, jobs...take the stats for an example: Having 5 stats in game, which were - Str, Con, Acc, Agi and Spr (compare to RO's Str, Vit, Dex, Agi and Int), without RO's "Luk", and kind of works the same way.

There're 4 races in the game - Ami, Phyllis  that are females and Lance, Carsis that are males. Each having jobs restriction (and enhancement I suppose, not sure of  this). As for jobs - Swordmans, Champion, Crusader, Hunter, Sharpshooter, Herbalist, Cleric, Seal Master, Explorer, Voyager and optional all classes(races) jobs - Fishing, Salvage, Woodcutting and Mining.

Pets system, Guild, Forge...the thing worth mentioning is sea battle, ability to buy & modifying boats. And the maps, they aren't shown like other MMORPG, only the place that you walked will be revealed, if you own PS2 and played Star Ocean 3 (Till The End Of Time), its something like the map system. For more information about this game, "Read More".

As you create an account and start the game, you'll obtain 3 slots like RO for your characters.

Lets go to more details of :

The map of the game, click on it to open a larger size of picture. As I mentioned before, its only showing the part that you had discovered/explored, there's a % gauge on the top right side of the map, telling you the total world you had explored.

I forgot to take a screenshot of game's radar function...if you happen to be lost, but knowing the coordinate (x & y) of your destination, you can open up your radar and input coordinates to it. An arrow will appear to guide you to your destination.

As for sea battle and boat building/modifying, I don't know them yet.

If you liked RO, you surely would on this game, try it! Although it declare that its "Closed Beta", its actually open for registration. You can register an account here and download the game client here.
