Are you finding an alternative for the software you're currently using, whether its due to unsatisfaction or expensive subscription? If so, you might want to check out alternativeTo.

The site function on giving alternative software suggestion based on user recommendations/likes, platform ranges from PC to phone (Windows, Mac, Iphone, Android...):

For example I searched "realplayer", and this is what it returned:

Descirption with RealPlayer I serached for with alternatives players recommended by users, they can be sort by likes, alphabetically or likes in the last 30 days. Filtered by payware/freeware & platform of course.
The downside I find is "description", the intro of software is just too brief, I don't get a hold of what to chose as an alternative if I know nothing about the softwares listed. Like Real Player example, alternative VLC media player...iTune? What if I wanted to find a player that plays real media? As what I know VLC doesn't support real media well even if you includes real media library files to it (that was like some time on 2010)! Not to mention iTune, which is totally out of question with playing real media.
Hopefully, information are lying all around the net, do a search and you probably get answer of most questions, Be sure to check the "comment", it most case it provides info you just wanted to know. Tags: alternativeTo , freeware , information technology , software , website
